I JUST LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Am I the only one wanting to see Varric as Genie and Hawke/(insert love interest of choice here) as Aladdin and Jasmine? :3
varric has little dolls of all of the characters and acts out his stories to get a better handle on the flow and pacing.
1. i like the above headcanon (and it makes me imagine hawke coming across varric’s collection of companion dolls, lovingly carved and hand-painted and personally commissioned, by “accident” or rather “because he is a snoop.” dolls spread out on the table, he sits down in varric’s room to wait for a necessary confrontation, playing with the anders and the fenris and pretending to make them fight over him to pass the time. “silence, mage!” “i’m aching for you, hawke!” and isabela chiming in “tear each other’s hair! go for the naughty bits!” when varric gets back, he catches hawke with his tongue sticking out doing all the voices and hawke’s like, “varric, this is your fault; don’t try to push it all off on me,” and varric’s like, “it’s not even the strangest thing you’ve seen in this group and don’t try to pretend it is.” then they get sodding drunk and hawke spends the night and all is forgotten and forgiven in the morning when varric brings in some hot spiced tea for hawke’s hangover, because after all they are best friends.)
2. i need the aforementioned art like burning. and not just because anders would look so charming in blue… but a little because of that.
ohgod if someone did art of this it would be the best thing ever hnnghhghghhhh
