Seriously ohgod I missed AWA last year since I was on the other side of the world and I can’t wait to be back with the most awesome crew of con-goers EVER <3 And hopefully I’ll be seeing a lot of new faces there :D

so let’s talk about this:

it’s a triskele, yeah, but it’s pretty different looking to the triple spiral triskele we’ve seen so far.

the triple spiral triskele has celtic roots. this triskele? has sicilian roots.

sicilian triskele feature three running legs bent at the knee. these triskele are associated with different things when compared to the triple spiral symbol, most notably chthonic significance. chthonic comes from the greek word ‘chthonios’ which means ‘in, under or beneath the earth’.

and what are we all assuming season three’s theme is? earth.

but do you know what really interests me about this triskele? that it has a filled in triangle in the center. that’s not common at all.

so, i can’t help but wonder if the filled in triangle is meant to reference the fact that a woman’s head was often used as the center in past illustrations of sicilian triskele. the head most commonly used was medusa, who was a gorgon (a chthonic monster).

and if i really want to go all out here, i’m just gonna remind everyone that jeff recently compared stiles to the greek hero perseus

Also, Female Hale as final boss is actually perfect. They won’t hook Derek up with a cousin, right? LOL /mind always on the sterek track.

Edit: For the record, more voice actors are signed on to work on this. This is just a first, rough look at what they are making. They have the Simpson VAs lined up as well as Jim Cummings.
